A Simple Oversized Shirt Dress Petite Style
If only I could have worn this look out somewhere… but alas, the day shall come when I’ll be able to frolic about in all the dopeness that resides in my closet. Until then, I’ll pretend that I got a lot of compliments on this dress while not attending a brunch that this look would have been perfect for.
When it comes to styling oversized pieces, I’m cautious of a few things.
The fit. I’m already short, so I don’t want to look like I’m drowning in a sea of fabric. For me, oversized typically consist of pieces that are at least one size too big. Getting the proportions right is key. Paying attention to where seams, curves, buttons and such are placed will look intentional for your height.
Styling. To give the look a sense of purpose, I unbuttoned the first 3 buttons and scrunched up the sleeves. I completed the look by adding small yet bold statement making shoes and accessories.
If you’re petite (or not) what’s your take on the oversized trend? Are you for or against it?
