Work Wear: Grey Sweater Dress + Red OTK Boots

Grey+Sweater+Dress_4.jpg

The weather here in Atlanta lately has been on one.  Within these last 23 days of January, we've gone from freezing rain one day, snow the next and just over the weekend the temps reached the mid 60's.  Crazy right?  The day I shoot this look the temps were in the low 30's.  Kaylin (my photographer) and I almost froze to death.

How many times have you purchased something and forgot you had it until you went looking for something else?  That's exactly what happened with this grey sweater dress.  I've had it for about 3 years and have only worn it twice because I keep forgetting that I have it.  The first time I wore this grey dress was here I didn't do it justice.  This time around I put a little more thought into how I wanted to style it.  I love the big front pockets on the dress, it adds character.  Although it's a turtleneck, I like that it's not to tight on my neck.  What I dig most about this sweater dress is the color.  While grey is one of the more popular colors in the cooler months, this light shade of grey is a much better option to brighten up this work wear look.

Of course the dress I'm wearing today is no longer available, but you know I stay looking out for you.  Below I've linked to a few options that would definitely work if you're wanting to recreate this look.  This grey sweater dress from H&M is a super cute alternative.  And Shein's version hit the nail on the head with this sweater dress.

The color red has never grown on me until now.  All of a sudden, I'm crushing on red shoes.  And these boots, bbaaaabbbbyyyyy!  Are e-very-thang!  Did you catch the first time I debuted these candy apple red OTK boots?  Go here.  I am in love with these boots from Shoeland (and so is hubs - wink.)  I wanted to make a statement and these boots did just that.  The pop of color for sure took this look to the next level.  If you're not in the otk boot trend at the workplace, these red Asos booties are a great second choice.  And these too from F21.  I paired this look with my fave black moto from H&M ( sold out, but this one from Asos is a nice runner up and this Forever 21 grey handbag from a few season's ago.

I hope you like this look as much and I do and that it inspires you to step out of your comfort zone and be willing to try something a little different.  Drop a line in the comments and let me know what you think about this look.
