What to Wear as Thanksgiving Hostess

Atlanta Fashion Stylist, Top Black Blogger, Atlanta Influencer

Guess whose hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year?? Meeee (and hubs)! I'm overly ecstatic. I’ve never hosted my entire family at my home for any occasion. So the pressure is on. Also I’m cooking (gasp!) Yes you read that right. I’m cooking. If you know me, you know that cooking is not my ministry. However, I found a recipe for seafood mac & cheese and thought I’d give it a shoot. Finger’s crossed that it comes out delicious.

Last year while remodeling our home, my husband got the bright idea that we should host a holiday dinner. At first I wasn’t thrilled with the idea of hosting, yet after seeing how excited he was about having our families over for the holidays, I was all in.

Being the host, you’d think that my attention would be on the menu and making sure that we’ll have enough seating for everyone. Or that the house will be in order. No! My thoughts are on what to wear.

For the last few months, I’ve been racking my brain trying to decide on an outfit. Normally holiday dinners are held at my parents and my attire usually consists of something super laid back. This look would be perfect…. if I wasn’t hosting. My “hostess with the mostest” look will be something casual, comfortable and cute.

Whether you’re hosting or attending, here are a few outfit ideas that will have you looking put together and stylish:

  • A sweater dress with booties or sneakers

  • A cute sweater paired with slightly oversized jeans and your fave pair of sneakers or boots

  • A matching sweat suit set with a fun pair of shoes

  • A skirt, graphic tee, layered with a denim jacket and booties

  • A pair of leggings and a hoodie

*Btw, did you peep that my shirt is on backwards!?!?!
