Street Style: The Pantsuit
Every season I either add to or take away something from my style wish list. Yet, the one constant item that has been on my wish list for the longest was (noticed I said was) a pant suit. I’d been wishing and wanting to come up on a bad pant suit for years. I’ve come close twice, but they weren’t nearly as fabulous as this glen plaid check blazer and stripe trouser pant suit from Rachel Roy’s Contemporary Collection.
Nothing says #girlboss like a classic suit with non-classic character. There isn’t anything new about women wearing pant suits, however, the pant suit of today’s woman is nothing short of slaymazing (slay + amazing, lol). In all the style magazines, on Instagram and other fashion/style platforms you’ve seen an array of suits options. All ranging from funky prints to layering and bright colors. Today’s modern woman isn’t here for the boring, conservative power suit of yesterday (unless you’re into that – no shade).
I’m so excited to share today’s blog post with you because I still can’t believe after all this time, I’m finally wearing a pant suit that I am actually in love with. The quality of this suit is amazing and it fits almost perfect. I say almost perfect because I’m short and most pants suits I’ve come across are usually to long for my short arms and legs. But no worries, my style hack for this minor situation was to push up the sleeves and cuff the pant legs (I’ll probably get it altered later).
Look at me… I’m going on and on about this banging suit, I haven’t even mentioned that this floral check ruffle cuff blouse is also from Rachel Roy’s Contemporary Collection. Y’all already know that I’m a sucker for mixed prints so this blouse is right up my alley. And it paired wonderfully with the suit. Don’t be surprised when you see this suit again this fall/winter season.
