Overalls Street Style

Who's idea was it to only give the weekend two days?  I could've definitely used one more day between yesterday and today.  But my weekend was pretty awesome since I got to hang out with my baby brother and sister-n-love for her birthday.  And I packed up the little one for a week at his god-mothers.

Remember last weekend I stood up to my old lazy self and demanded that we get our weekend wardrobe together (read post here)?  Well I'm happy to announce that I'm still winning the good fight  of not having a boring weekend outfit.  Say it with me... No More Shredded Jeans & T-shirts!!  Hold up...  I'm getting ahead of myself.  I'm not sure I'm ready to commit to such a stance.

Anyway, today's look is definitely another step up to my usual weekend attire.  This time around, I decided on a pair of slim overalls given to me by my good friends at JustFab.  Ordering a size up to give myself room to layer if I wanted to in the cooler months and just all around comfort.  Plus I didn't feel like a fitted pair would be flattering.

Believe it or not, I actually struggled with how to style these overalls.  It wasn't until the night before my photoshoot that I remembered thrifting this lace crochet sweatshirt.  How easy would it have been to just throw on a cute T-shirt underneath?  Super easy!  That's why a T-shirt wasn't going to cut it.  A cute bell-sleeved or off the shoulder crop would have been really cute, but I'm not a OTS or crop top type of girl.  Choosing this crochet top was the right move.

For this look, I opted for a heeled sandal instead of sneakers or a flat sandal to keep from looking like a little girl.  And now that I'm into crossbody bags, this turquoise (sold out in this color) mini from ShoeDazzle worked perfectly.
