5 Reasons Why I Still Shop At The Thrift Store

Thrifting is almost an acquired taste, so to speak -- digging through cluttered racks and bins, the musty smell of who-knows-what permeating the air all for the purpose of finding something really ah-mazing. While it does require some effort and patience, it’s so rewarding. It’s funny that what I use to be ashamed of is now one of my favorite things to do.

Here are a few reasons I love thrift stores and why you should definitely give them a shot if you haven't already.

  • They are cheap and good for your wallet.

  • Thrift stores are a major factor in keeping more out of the landfills. That’s great for the environment.

  • You can create your own personal style. Unleash your creativity.

  • They help the community. Many thrift stores are non-profits that partner with local charities, and when you make a purchase, part of what you spend goes to a good cause.

  • It’s fun!!!
