That One Time I Almost Fought An Old Lady

Look who finally decided to get here... Friday!  And I'm glad about it.  I think the end of the week likes to play games with my emotions.  But it's here and I'm ready to start my weekend shenanigans.

Starting with later on this evening.  I'll be hanging out with some new blogger gal pals I met a few weeks ago at an event.  Oddly enough, I'm slightly excited.  If not for blogging, I think I'd still be that little semi-awkward person who noticed and admired other people's gifts and talents instead of noticing  and admiring my own gifts and talents.

Before I get too sappy, let's talk about this awesomely fab vintage top I scored two years ago from a thrift store outlet.  For only (drum rolllllllllll) $1.75?!?!?!  This top is why I will forever thrift.  I remember the day we met (cue harp sound effect and blurry fade to scene two years ago).  I was walking around minding my own business when my friend called my name and was like, Little Bit (because I'm short) look what I found for you.  My eyes immediately lit up like Christmas lights.  I heard the thrift angels singing a dope melody and for just a moment the world stopped.  It was instant love at first sight.

As soon as she brought it to me, throngs of people gather about me longing to touch, to feel, to embrace this colorful gem.  I gulped up all of the admiration for this find.  Yet there was this one person who was getting a little to close.  An older lady who kept trying to grab the top out of my hands.  She kept saying how beautiful the top was and how she remembers pieces like this top from back in her day.  Then she asks....

Can I try it on?  I immediately gave her the side eye.  All while she's trying to take the top out of my hands.  At this point, I'm like ma'am!  As she continues to get me to let go of the top.  After a few moments, I decided to let her try it on, but you can best believe, I was prepared to fight her over this top if she tried anything funny.  Needless to say I got the top.  I paired the top with an old pair of Forever21 jeans that I fringed at the bottom at one back pocket and red fringed heels, also old from JustFab.

I hope you enjoyed my little story as much as you do this outfit.  Have a stylishly fun weekend!!!
