Lace Skirt + Adidas Sneakers

Melodie Stewart, The Style Klazit, Atlanta style blogger, Athleisure, Adidas, Atlanta stylist

On days when I kinda want to dress up but then not really, I tend to lean towards the athleisure look.  It functional, yet fashionable.  Gone are the days where sneakers are meant for the gym only.  I decided to dress up my sneakers with this black lace skirt from Plato's Closet, but you can get one from here or here.  Denim/chambray tops should be a staple in your closet.  Actually you should really have more than one, hint-hint.  Besides the thrift store, you can pick one or two up from Old Navy or Forever21.  I added this neon yellow handbag (thrifted) just for the heck of it, lol.  But really accessories just make things better!  Have you given this look a try?  What's your opinion on this trend?

Welp, it's the second day of the week of the second month of the year.  I must say things are looking up!  Why you may ask? Weellll, when I looked back over my life these last few years I noticed one thing

Growth!!!!!!  My hair for sure has grown.  Btw, I LOVE my natural hair.  I very excited to see it at its full potential.  Secondly, my blog.  When I first started out blogging, I had no idea what so ever what I was doing, but to look at where I started until now....  I'm very proud of myself.  I can't wait to see what the rest of this year holds for

The Style Kläzit

.

Now just because you still work a 9-5 or similar doesn't mean you can't be stylish or "trendy".  Maybe I'm fortunate that my job allows me a little wiggle room to #createmyownlook (wink).  Look at how I took a sweater and pair of slacks, which both are appropriate for work and executed a trendy mixed print look.  And just for the heck of it, I added a splash of color.  Now you try it and tag me either on

with your new found workwear look.  Good Luck!!

All Mixed UP!

Hi Stylenista's,

There's a certain classicness (is that a word?) to black and white.  Subconsciously, I tend to lean more towards the black/white combo.  I like the versatility that this color combo has.  One of my favorite style enthusiast's, who I deem the queen of black and white, is Janelle Monae.  She can wear the heck out of an black and white outfit.

Following me you see I'm a huge fan of prints.  Outside of polka dot's, window pane print has become my fave.  As an avid thrifter, my primary goal was to find them for less than $5.00.  Well, that didn't happen.  While out and about with my boo, I walked into the store and there they were; front and center.  I felt like a kid on Christmas.  They were not the $5 that I was hoping for, BUT I got want I wanted.

Outfit Details
Polka-dot button down - Thrifted - < $2.00
Window pane print pants - Old Navy - $35.00
Floral print tie - Thrifted - < $1.50

Simple and Cute

Hi Stylenista's,

The weather in Georgia is fickle.  It seems like we experience all four seasons in a week.  This day was kinda chilly so I grabbed one of my favorite scarfs.

My cousin introduced me to thrifting years ago.  I wasn't entirely turned off about it, I still didn't want anyone to know that I shopped at thrift stores.  Although I didn't grow up lacking, I wasn't the girl that got to wear all the latest brand name.  Once I graduated from high school and started working I moved away from thrift shopping.  I had taken the blue pill (reference from the movie Matrix).  I got caught up.  But life has it's way of bringing one back to reality.  Reality was... I could still "look fly on a dime".

Outfit Details
Suede Blazer - Salvation Army Duluth- $6.00
Denim Top - Old Navy - Gifted
Skinny Jeans - Plato's Closet Duluth- $8.00
Scarf- Park Ave Thrift Duluth - $2.00

Denim & Florals

Hey there Stylenista's

Thanks for checking out my latest post!  I really appreciate it.

It amazes me to see how unintentionally I create similar looks within the same month and not even realize it. It wasn't until I was going through my photos that I noticed that I'd created the denim & floral look twice in one month.  I guess subconsciously, I was really feeling this look. I especially like the fact that both the denim tops and floral skirts were thrifted/gifted.

Outfit Details:

Plain denim top - Old Navy / gifted
Dark Floral skirt - New York & Co. / $1.75
Floral denim top - Old Navy / &2.00
Floral bottom (it's really a dress styled as a skirt) - You're A Hanger Boutique / $5.00

Total combined: Less than $10
