When I look back over my style history, I've changed.  But that's the beauty of style.  "Fashion you can buy, but style you possess. The key to style is learning who you are, which takes years. There's no how-to road map to style. It's about self expression and, above all, attitude." - Iris Apfel

This is vacation week for me and my fam.  We usually take a family vaca every year, but this year my parents, my brother and his fam and both my sister's and their family's will soak up the sun in Florida.  Aaanndd my 20 year old decided she wanted to hang as well; but I hope she leaves her attitude in Georgia because I'm not here for it!!! Something else that's new this time around is... I actually finished packing for hubs, baby boy and myself all before 12:30 am.  Normally I'm not finished packing until around 4:00 am the morning of the trip.  My wardrobe for this trip is a little different.  Most of what I packed are things my husbands likes but I never wear.  You can catch me on IG and maybe Snapchat for my #ootd's.

Change is good!  It's a prerequisite for improvement.  Not changing can cause you to be comfortable and a comfort zone, albeit a nice place, is not fertile ground for growth.  I said all that to say that I am about to make some major modifications in the near future.  Hang around you'll see.  *Drops Mic.......

Okay so this post is going to be short and sweet, because my laptop won't let me be great (ughhh!!!!) Now-a-days I'm finding that I just don't like wearing heels as much as I use to and it's just so easy and effortless to put on a pair of sandals.  Here's were the sneaker comes in.  A sneaker adds a certain dopeness to a skirt or a dress, basically it can take your look from blah to boom.  Try adding a colorful sneaker to a black and white outfit or a converse to a mini.  How about a wedge sneaker with a knee length leather skirt?  You could even add a dope pair of ankle socks just for the fun of it.

Whats your opinion on the sneaker-skirt trend?  Let me know below or email me,

Hey y'all heyyyyy!  I know it's been a couple weeks since I last posted, But life happens and taking care of ones own self is more important than giving you guys absolute bang'n outfit post each week...! I kid but for-real.

For these last few weeks I've been feeling blah!  Not sure why, but I knew it wouldn't last long.  Since I last posted, some really great things have been brewing.  I'm so excited and I can't wait to tell you guys (in due time).  Now there is one thing I've been trying to figure out; which is how I can provide more valuable content for you...  I'd love it, if you would let me know what type of style questions you may have.  This will give me some type of idea of the challenges you may be facing.  Leave me a line in the comments and I'll work to create post to help in your quest for dopeness!!!!!!

Last thing, I'm finally achieving my big hair goals.  Can't wait til it gets even bigger.  And I think I'll add some more color to it...

Event Recap: Curl Boss - Naturally Pretty

My natural hair journey has been interesting to say the least.  March 2012 was the last time I permed my hair and October 2012 I did the BC!  I was so excited and a little lost because I had no idea what I was going to do with a twa.  Not to mention my husband hated my natural hair; he called it "nappy."  It bothered me, but I knew that after I got the hang of it he would love.  AND I was right!!

During my natural hair journey, I've attended many hair events.  My favorite is the Naturally Pretty hair event hosted by beauty expert and MUA Mia “

MiMi J

” and Dr. Maeling "Mae" aka

Natural Chica

.  Volunteering in 2012 and 2013 and attending this year's event, WOW is all I can say.  The highlight for me was being in the presence of so many beautiful black women.  Secondly were the special guest panelist - Jasmine Lawrence of

Eden BodyWorks

, Janell Stephens of

Camille Rose Naturals

, Pamela Jenkins of

Koils by Nature

, Lois Hines of

Tropic Isle Living

and Chanel Martin & Candace Mitchell of

Myavana

Destroyed Denim

Melodie Stewart, The Style Klazit, Distressed Skirt, Atlanta style blogger, Atlanta street style

Hello Stylenista's,

Last month I had a birthday - Yyyyeeeaaaa!!!  Although I'm a little picky and somewhat finicky it doesn't take a lot to make me happy.  I love my husband for all the effort he puts into making my day special.  Aside from what he gets me, I don't really expect anyone else to get me anything.  However, to my surprise my two thrift buddy's (Tiffany of @mrscuteasabutton and NeShanta of @msstyleisshe) gifted me with some fabulous items.  One of my birthday gifts was this denim skirt and immediately I knew that I was going to destroy this skirt.  With little vision in mind and a giant pair of scissors I started cutting.  My husband was like you're just scissor happy; my reply was that it was going to be one of the best looking distressed skirts of all time.  After nearly loosing a finger and almost choking to death because of the bleach fumes - I  present to you............. Destroyed Denim!

Sunday Brunch

Hi There Stylenista's!

My weekend ended on a great note; I attended Miko Branch of Miss Jessie's book signing meet & greet event.  Let me first say that Miko is gorgeous.  Listening to her story was very encouraging and inspiring.  Although she said a lot of good nuggets, what stood out most to me was that through hard work, perseverance and consistency, success is attainable.  I'm really glad that I went.

How ironic that I wore black and white just like the host's... Rita K. Davis of CocoaFab and the sweetest blogger I know, Kiwi "The Beauty".  Now before you go guessing how much I paid for my outfit, only one piece is thrifted.  Can you guess which one?  Let me help you out... my handbag!  Both the peplum top and fitted skirt are from F21 and the shoes are from gojane.

Check out my look and a few pic's from the event..

Pink & Gold

Hey there Stylenista's

I scored this ka-ute (cute) Forever21 neon pink blouse on one of the Thrifting Atlanta Bus Tour's.  Although three fashionista's tried it on, it was I who it fit best.  I could't wait to style it.  This skirt was a must have as well.

Outfit Details...
Blouse - Park Ave Thrift Woodstock - $1.75
Skirt - Park Ave Thrift Woodstock - $1.75

Hey there Stylenista's!

I call this look natural chic.... I have been natural for over 2 years and I LOVE it.  I wish I would have done it earlier.  I didn't grow up wearing makeup and I never learned how to apply it so I don't wear.  I'm okay with my natural beauty.
