Hanging Out At The Braves Clubhouse

Braves Clubhouse Store For Her VIP Event,, Top Atlanta Blogger, Atlanta Sreet style

A few weeks ago, me and five other Atlanta influencers were invited to spend the day at the Atlanta Braves Clubhouse for a VIP Experience.  We had the most amazing time.  Not only did we get the opportunity to see some behind the scenes operations of Braves Retail, we got to play dress up and do a photoshoot (yay!)

For years the Braves baseball team played at Turner Field, a stadium that was located in Atlanta, Ga.  In 2017 the team moved to its new location, Sun Trust Park in Cobb County.  Also, on the same property is The Battery Atlanta, entertainment central for Atlanta Braves fans.

Before this event, I had no idea that The Battery was such a fun place to hang out, either with bae, the family or with friends.  There is plenty to do, between the restaurants, the shops and family friendly activities; you're in for a treat when you visit.

The best part of the entire experience was visiting the Clubhouse Store for Her.  This little boutique-ish store was built with the female fan in mind.  As soon as you walk into the store you can tell that the Braves Retail team really put in a lot of thought, time and effort to ensure the best shopping experience for the female fan.  But what did it for me was that they actually had women’s wear made for a women’s body.  I mean it’s cute to wear your mans shirts from time to time, but can’t a girl have her own (I’m just saying).  And guess what you guys they cater to real women sizes from xs to plus size (Go Braves!)

Another part of the tour that was super amazing was visiting the Braves custom shop where fans can get jersey’s custom made.  How cool is that!  Even cooler is that we were all surprised to find out that we’d be getting our own custom jersey (be on the lookout for that look on the blog soon).

The last stop included a mini shopping spree at Dress Up boutique at The Battery where I scored a really dope denim jacket and a pair of leopard print slides that I’ve already worn a few times already.  Big shout out to Dress Up for providing each of us with some stylish (and affordable) pieces to wear for our photoshoot.  So, I knew we’d be shooting looks, I had no idea it would be in the dugout (mind blown!)

This experience is one for the books. From start to finish, everything, including the Braves Retail team was amazing and I’m just so thankful and grateful that I was chosen for this opportunity. The next time you’re looking for something fun to do, check out The Battery Atlanta and be sure to stop by The Braves Clubhouse for Her and grab some Braves gear.

Thanks Braves Retail for having me!!!!

Dinner At The Alden

The Alden Atlanta, Atlanta Eats, Where to eat in Atlanta

One of my favorite things to do is eating out with my love. For a while, whenever we’d go out to eat it would always be at one of three of our favorite restaurants. However, recently we’ve being exploring new restaurants. Last week we had the opportunity to visit a fairly new restaurant. Located in Chamblee Georgia, Chef Jared Hucks opened The Alden in April of this year.

An Atlanta native, Chef Hucks left the country in 2006 to begin a journey that would ultimately bring him back to Atlanta. His travels took him to quite a few interesting places, from South America to Australia, Southeast Asia and Europe. It was aboard where the chef learned from the masters. As a result you’re bound to see an array of dishes representing the world with a touch of southern cuisine.

The restaurant is nice with it’s modern touches and with the open kitchen, you get a chance to see the chef’s in the zone. The menu consists of a small or large plate option, yet both sizes come with fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced locally and regionally. They also pair their dishes with a dynamic, high-quality wine & cocktail program. Pictured below are the dishes the Mr and I enjoyed.

If you’re looking for a new dining experience, be sure to check out The Alden.

LOCATION: 5070 Peachtree Boulevard, Chamblee, GA 30341

HOURS: Sunday: Brunch 11am – 3pm | Monday: Closed | Tuesday-Thursday: 5:30pm – 10pm | Saturday: 5:30pm – 11pm

The Werkaholic's Behind Werk Pray Slay

WERK Pray Slay is an annual weekend conference created for the purposes of helping women WIN!

Hosted by Koereyelle DuBose, the founder of Werk Pray Slay, this weekend empowerment conference is a must attend event. With a series of interactive werkshops, panel presentations, networking opportunities, a big hat brunch and a champagne toast attendees are left impacted and empowered to live their best life.

A few weekends ago I attended the VIP networking mixer and met a some awesome boss babes growing and glowing in their craft. The mixer also highlighted the 2018 Werkaholic honoree’s - Mattie James, Maya Elious, Jerri Chanel of Turning Natural and India Monae. I can’t tell you how awesome of an experience it was to be in a room full of black girl magic.

Even though I wasn’t able to attend the entire weekend of events, I did get the chance to chat with the dream team behind WPS. Judging by all the instastories and IG feeds from that weekend, this team of exceptional women put together one heck of an affair.

Meet the dream team:

  • Koereyelle - Founder and creator of Werk Pray Slay, Confessions of a Werkaholic podcast, Busy at the Beach (a getaway for goal-getting women), The get money gang ( a personal coaching and consulting services that support millennial entrepreneurs with monetization strategies and her new baby Werk Mag (a media platform and quarterly publication that showcases the success stories of entrepreneurs & small businesses).

  • Lakia "LB" Brandenburg - A Certified Prepare-Enrich Instructor, aka a wife coach. LB’s mission as a wife coach is to transform married or soon to be married women into happy and successful wives. She’s also a public speaker and MC.

  • Alicia Fitch - Affectionately known as Li Li along with her husband Matthew Fitch own and operate Brighter Affairs, a full-service event and entertainment firm based in Atlanta. You can also find her in the blogosphere at

Check out my conversation with Koereyelle…

MS: When did the entrepreneur bug bite you? Was it something you always intended for yourself?

Koe: I started my first business in high school as a nail tech/cosmetologist.  Up until Single Wives club, I had 5 failed businesses.  Not that I intended to be an entrepreneur, I guess it was my calling.

MS: How did you come up with the idea for Werk Pray Slay?

Koe: Transitioning from my original empowerment event, the Single Wives Club ( a “club” for single women who wanted more than just to be a side chick or a bae) I wanted to create an atmosphere for all women to be able to gain the necessary tips and tools needed to be successful.

MS: Tell me about your proudest achievement?

Koe: I met an attendee who flew in from out of the county. She even purchased a VIP ticket for the entire weekend.  While there she gave her testimony and expressed how WPS was life changing for her and that she would be back and would bring others with her.

MS: What’s the most challenging moment in your career so far?

Koe: Realizing I can’t do it all by myself.  And trusting my discernment when it comes to who to allow into this space to help bring this vision to fruition.

MS: What’s your biggest piece of advice you have for female entrepreneurs?

Koe: Know what you want.  In order to chase your dreams/visions you have to know yourself enough to know what you want.

MS: What’s unique about WPS ?

Koe: Unlike most women empowerment conferences, WPS offers both a lifestyle and spiritual aspect.  There aren’t any conferences (to my knowledge) that aims to grow you both spiritually and naturally.  At WPS not only can you get advise on how to run a successful business or how to manager finances, WPS will also breath life back into your soul.

Check out my interview with LB…

MS: What’s your contribution to WPS?

LB: I bring the relationship piece (being a wife coach) and I’m the official MC for the weekend. I love public speaking and being able to just be me.

MS: Tell me about your role as a Wife Coach.

LB: After being happily married for over 9 years, my objective is to show and tell women (married or single) that a happy marriage can and does exist.

MS: Where did you get the idea to write Picture Perfect?

LB: This book is really about my husband and I. Having two people who come from two different backgrounds with different views on marriage and bringing them together to with the intentions of creating a solid foundation for a health marriage. A perfect marriage is based on a lot of imperfections. I’m not perfect and he’s not perfect, but together we are Picture Perfect.

MS: Being a Wife Coach, how have you dealt with “failures”?

LB: I kind of like the word failure in terms of using it for lessons. There’s always a lesson to learn hidden in whatever we’re going through. Practicing what I preach. If I’m going to be out here telling women how to be a great wife, I have to lead by example.

MS: What’s unique about what you bring to the table from a wife coach perspective?

LB: I sell happiness. I sell the happy wife life. Being a happy wife has nothing to do with the husband, but has everything to do with you. I help women to understand what makes them happy and understanding that they shouldn’t rely a their spouse to always make them happy.

I didn’t get the opportunity to talk with Li Li, however, I’m told that she’s really a “success story” of what the Single Wives Club, now Werk Pray Slay weekend was created for. She applied the tools and tips that Koereyelle’s empowerment events offered and now sh’e living out her dream. She’s also a soon to be mom, Congratulations Lili!

Going Back In Time At The Red Phone Booth - Atlanta

Atlanta Bloggers, Red Phone Booth

If I could go back in time, I’d have to stopped in the 20’s, if only to be able to sashay around town in a fancy flapper dress. And just to prove that I’m down for whatever, you’d catch me hanging out in speakeasy clubs enjoying a good bootleggers’ spirit all while looking over my shoulder just in case the law came barging in because Prohibition was in full effect. Although the Prohibition era was abolished you can still experience a speakeasy atmosphere at the Red Phone Booth in Downtown Atlanta.

Getting into these illicit establishments was no easy feat, you needed a secret code.  Meaning you would’ve needed to know the woman, who was dating the man, who’s friends with the guy around the corner, who’s momma’s husband was the plug.  RPB keeps the tradition going, because you’ll need to know the secret passcode (which changes btw) to enter.  With the passcode in hand you’re on your way to an evening of soothing jazz, burning cigars and delicious eats.  Oh, did I mention that the phone is an old rotary phone that really works!

Over all my experience was good. The ambiance was sophisticated.  The food was delicious, especially the fried calamari and lamb meatballs (surprisingly since I’m not a red sauce fan).  Judging from the empty glasses, it might be safe to assume that the drink selections weren’t too shabby either.  The wait staff was friendly and the service was great.

The next time you’re up in the air about what to do for date night, girl’s night out or if you happen to be vising Atlanta you should check out Red Phone Booth - 17 Andrew Young International Blvd, NE, Atlanta, GA 30303 || (404) 228-7528

Blogging Beauties Media Girls On Tour Atlanta Honor's Creator Of RHOA, Princess Banton-Lofters & Married To Medicine’s, Quad Webb-Lunceford

Media Girls On Tour Atlanta.jpg

This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend Blogging Beauties Media Girls On Tour. The event was held at Kiss Studios and sponsored by Event Services & Lottabody. All I can say is the event was very empowering. It was an amazing gathering that highlighted some of Atlanta’s most influential women in media. I also had the opportunity to meet instafriends in person and connect with new media influencers.

Awarded with the"Outstanding Women In Media" Award were creator of RHOA, Princess Banton-Lofters & Married To Medicine’s, Quad Webb-Lunceford.

Hosted and moderated by Anisa Brenee, the other panelists included journalists Marie Denee of The Curvy Fashionista, Fox 5 Atlanta Anchor, Marissa Mitchell, 11Alive News Anchor, Neima Abdulahi, Dash Radio Personality, Kierra Wagstaff, Lori Jay, SVP Marketing at TV One Networks, Jazzy Mcbee of Streetz 94.5.

During the panel discussion these ladies dropped so many gems and nuggets that I left motivated and encouraged. At the tender age of 40 I’m still trying to get a good foot hold into the fashion and media industry and at times the journey can be discouraging. If I had to point out one moment during the discussion that made the biggest impact was the part where Lori Jay and Jazzy Mcbee both encouraged the crowd to keep pushing. No matter your age, always be willing to learn. Be teachable and willing to listen. And don’t be afraid to put yourself out there.

Those in attendance had the opportunity to receive a complimentary massage from Six Figure Spa Chick. Shop with vendors Arelia’s Dream, Atl Henna, J Dow Fitness, Bodi Glaze, and Treasures & Trinkets and live music by DJ Baby Drea.

In case you missed this one, be sure to follow Blogging Beauties on Instagram to keep up with what they have going on. Photo recap below.

TP² Menswear Fashion Show || Recap

Melodie Stewart, Atlanta Style Blogger, TP Squared Menswear Fashion Show

Discover the new Menswear Fashion Collection of TP² Men’s Fall/Winter 2019 fashion show sponsored by Christopher Metzler, CEO of Mannish W

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of attending the “Press Play” runway show hosted by menswear clothing designers Tim Parks and Toney Powell at the Ambient Plus Studios in Atlanta.  The show displayed styles and fashion pieces that brought to the stage a unique mixture of colors and textures that are not only fashion forward but would be perfect for today’s modern man who’s looking to serve a bold look at their next board meeting or for a photo opt on the red carpet.

During the fashion show, the duo showcased pieces from their Spring/Summer swimwear collection, mens fashionable underwear and introduced us to their new Fall/Winter line.  Toney and Tim are not novices to the fashion scene.  Their pieces continue to grace the runway of high-end stores such as Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus.  In fact, I’m proud to say that I was given the opportunity to style the women’s collection at their first fashion show in 2015.

The presentation also featured the collections of womenswear Fashion Designer Isaac Spry and Hat Designer Otis Damon.

Check out some pics from the event and be sure to follow TP² on Instagram via tp2atlanta.

What I'm Wearing To The World Natural Hair Show + I'm Teaching A Thrift Style Workshop

World Natural Hair Show, Top Atlanta blogger

Happy Fabulous Friday people!  I am so ready for this weekend.  Can you guess why?  I gave a little hint in the title of this post.  Tomorrow is THE DAY that I get to facilitate a thrifting workshop at the 21st World Natural Hair Show presented by Taliah Waajid

My style session is tomorrow from 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm in Classroom: Italian 1-2 (tickets).  I think because I'm so hype about it that I'm not even nervous (at least not yet).  I actually feel really good about the workshop tomorrow.  I still can't believe it.  This is the biggest platform I've been on so far.  And I'm so grateful that God allowed somebody to think about me for this opportunity.  All smiles as I write this post!!!!!!

You already know that my look has to be bang'n right?  And of course it has to be thrifted, duh!  I've been thinking about what to wear every since I got the call.  And after going back and forth with myself, I decided to repeat a look that I absolutely loved the first time I wore it.  The first time I wore this look was at Atlanta designer Natt Taylor's pop up shop a few weeks ago.

And to think a couple of years ago I would never be caught wearing the same thing twice. Girl what?!?!  Especially if I got photographed in a look.  No ma'am, Pam!  But baby, I'll be 40 in a few weeks and things like not repeating an outfit is cray cray!.  I'm at a place now where I don't even care anymore.  Which is why I'll be wearing this exact look tomorrow.  The only thing I'm changing is my undergarments and my hair will probably be different.

My favorite part of this look is the bright yellow ruffle skirt I picked up from vintage shop Ecologie in Kennesaw, GA (It's a bit of a drive, but it's worth it).  My skirt is thrifted, however this ASOS satin pleated midi skirt with hanky hem is super dope and so cute and you should get it.  Guys, I've said it once and I'll say it again, Zara is the real MVP when it comes to shoes.  I would suggest not waiting to get a shoe you really like, their inventory goes quick.  These white brogues are no longer available.

Well style lover's do me a fave... Send up a prayer that all goes well tomorrow and that something awesome comes from the experience.  Appreciate it and ttyl!

Dinner At Twelve Eighty

Atlanta Food Blogger, 1280 Inspired Dining

Every year I swear Christmas sneaks up on me and this year is no different.  And even less than a week away, I haven't bought not one Christmas present.  But I'm so unbothered...

I'm so weird when it comes to food that my husband always asks me what I want for dinner, because I almost never want to eat what he wants to eat.  So to make up for all my "I don't know what I want to eat moments"  I brought hubs along for dinner at Twelve Eighty.  Guys, this experience was one for the books.  I loved the space, especially the large mirrored orbs on the wall.  The staff was very friendly and professional.  They almost had me feeling like a celebrity.

Located on Sifly Piazza between the Memorial Arts Building and the High Museum in Midtown, this restaurant is one that you need to add to your "must visit" list.  Just recently they introduced new items to their fall menu which consists of local, farm to fork offerings for everyone.  This includes my veggie and vegan friends.  Be sure to check out their full menu.

Atlanta Food Blogger, 1280 Inspired Dining

Attending on a media invite, we were able to taste all the new items on their fall menu, including the suggested cocktail.  I'm not sure if I want to admit this, but I'm kinda like a kid when it comes to food.  If it doesn't look or smell good, I'm not touching or tasting it.  But guys, everything they brought out was beautifully presented.  It was the sound of forks hitting plates, that let you know that the food was delicious.

My faves were:

  • Pimento Deviled Eggs -- Pimento Cheese, Apple-Wood Smoked Bacon, Fresh Herbs and Smoked Chilli Cream over a bed of mixed greens and pomegranate
  • Crusted Ahi Tuna Nicoise Salad -- Field Greens, Peruvian Purple & Fingerling Potatoes, Tiny Beans, Blistered Grape Tomato, Fresh Radishes, Egg, Nicoise Pesto, Citrus Vinigraigrette
  • The “High Museum” Pastrami -- Shaved Pastrami, House Made Slaw, Gruyere Cheese, 1000 Island Dressing and Marble Rye
  • Shrimp & Andouille Skillet -- Logan Turnpike Jalapeno & Sweet Corn Stone Ground Grits, Spicy Andouille, Shrimp, Pickled Okra
  • Roasted Turkey & Pepper Jack -- Golden Farms Organic Turkey, Apple-Wood Smoked Bacon, Sundried Tomato Aioli, Arugula on Ciabatta Bread

After indulging in all the scrumptiousness, I barely had enough room for dessert.  There were three:  Classic Creme Brulee, Almond Tres Leches Cake and Pots De Creme Chocolate Pudding.

Dinner At Chama Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse - Atlanta

I am the total opposite of a foodie.  There are even days when I only eat one good meal a day.  However, I had the opportunity to dine with the Atlanta Food & Lifestyle Bloggers' Society for a private media event at Chama Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse in Atlanta and it was amazing.

Like I said before, I'm not a foodie, but I'll devour a couple pounds of crablegs and a side of shrimp with garlic butter to dip my crab meat in (yuummmy!)  Yet after last weeks dinner experience at Chama Gaucha, I may be switching to steak.  Guys, the filet mignon was e-very-thing!  And I'm not just saying that because it was my first time having it.  It was so tender and really delicious.

The evening started with a tasty salad from the self-serve salad bar.  Two of my fave items from the bar was the most delish chicken salad (which I had to force myself to stopping eating before I got to full) and the smoked salmon.  Before I could even finish my salad in comes several skewers of their delectable MEATS!  Y'all, Chama has an incredible selection of meat options.  And I tried my very best to partake in sampling each piece the gaucho (trained Brazilian chef) brought to our table.

Speaking of the gaucho, these guys actually bring the meat to you on large skewers.  I thought, wow! How cool is that.  Even cooler is the carving of the meats is controlled by you with a red and green sided card. The green side lets the server know that you'd like a piece of meat, while the red side tells them to hold off.  My card was turned on the green side most of the night.

After eating about 10-12 different pieces of meat and another salad I had reached my limit.  Only to to be told that dessert was on the way.  No sooner than that announcement was made, in comes the servers with plates of these humongous slices of cheesecake, colorful pieces of key lime pie, creme brulee and more.  If I'd known about the desserts I would have saved some room for a slice of cheesecake.

One of the highlights of the night was when Chef Laurel Elliott came out to chat it up with the group.  Even sharing a few pointers on how some of the meats are prepared and cooked.

How awesome would it be if you could experience your own night at Chama Gaucha?  Well lady's and gents, you can.  I'm giving away a Dinner For Two to one lucky winner.  The give-away starts at 6:00 pm tonight and to enter head over to my Instagram account and follow the instructions.

For authentic Brazilian cuisine be sure to visit Chama Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse at 3365 Piedmont Rd NE, Suite 1350 • Atlanta, GA 30305.

The “Greenlight Project” fashion Show by Dai Moda with celebrity stylist, Sudi Spence of sudiSTYLE || Event Recap

This weekend proved to me that I'm kinda getting old.  I hung out Friday and Saturday yet all I could think about was getting back home to my bed.

Friday night I attended Aspire TV's new series "The Graduates ATL" premier party but left after pushing myself to stay an hour (which I was kinda mad because I'd paid $20 to park).  Last night I attended Dai Moda’sThe Greenlight Project” fashion show hosted by Angela Simmons.

Celebrity stylist Sudi Spence of sudiSTYLE did an amazing job with each look on the runway.  I really really fell in love with Natt Taylor's collections.  Sadly, I didn't capture her line because of issues with the lighting on my camera.  However, I'm hoping to get pics and maybe do a post of her line in the future.

The highlights of the evening were...

- Singer/ Violinist Angelina Sherie.  Her performance was head banging.  I had no idea that a violin could be played with such gusto and heart.  Check out her latest music (here).

- The absolute best model in the game (in my opinion), Nedra Phillips did her thang.  Whenever she graces the stage, you don't have a choice but to look.  She definitely commands attention when she's on the runway.

- On the heels of Nedra is another beautiful model with curves for days is Devorah Story

Overall, this was an awesome show.  One of the best shows I been to in awhile.

You're Invited To The Next Kläzit Raid

Having a moment of nostalgia for my event a few weeks ago.  And really excited to be hosting another one in just a few short months.  Yes you read right!  I'm hosting another Kläzit Raid on Saturday, October 21, 2017.

Now that I've dipped my big toe in to test the water, I'm ready to jump in and grow this idea into something amazing.  This is uncharted territory for me, but I'm so here for whatever I need to do in order to defeat my fears and succeed by achieving my dreams.  Mattie James coined the phrase "David Your Goliath." Which is exactly what I intend to do.

If you're a Style Kläzit newbie or haven't visited in a while, I hosted the first Kläzit Raid back in July (recap here).  And while I want to say it was a disaster, it wasn't as bad as my imagination lead me to believe.  Even though I experienced the shoulda, woulda, coulda's I'm all in at this point.

So in saying that, please Save The Date for the next Kläzit Raid this October 21st.  Aaannndddd, did I forget to mention that I've started a Facebook Group as an extension of the the actual event?  Forgive me!  If you're interested in joining the group >>> click here.  If you're a style blogger or style influencer and you'd like to participate or what more info on the next closet sale... email me at

TCFStyle Expo || Event Recap

Melodie Stewart, The Style Klazit, The Curvy Fashionista, TCF Style Expo, Plussize Fashion, Atlanta Blogger Events

Merry Monday and Happy New Week!  I totally overslept this morning.  I didn't hear my alarm this morning because I forgot to take the headphones out of my phone.  I should probably rely on more than just my cell phone as a means of waking up, but....

Soooo my weekend was kinda awesome.  Having attended the first two TCFStyle Expo's , this 3rd one was nothing short of amazing.  Walking into the exhibition hall at the Cobb Galleria, I thought back to the first expo Marie Denee, the bombshell creative that runs The Curvy Fashionista hosted back in 2015.  Back then I was impressed but this weekend's expo proved that Marie is a women on a mission to change the curvy girls world.  I see you Marie big timing it at one of Atlanta's premier venues.

The best part of the event for me was seeing again or meeting for the first time some of my fave blogger babes and social media influencers.  I event got a chance to meet some of my insta-fans.  I won't lie, it felt pret-ty good to have people walk you to me asking if I was @thestyleklazit or by my actual name Melodie.

Overall I really enjoyed myself and I can't wait until next year!  In the meantime, check out a few pics from both days.  This photo recap is only a small taste of what really went down.  **Caution, this post is photo heavy.
