White T & Distressed Denim

It's Monday!  GOD is going to do some amazing things this week; so get ready!!!  Today I decided not to look down on this day.  Everyday is a day full of possibilities and what better day to start than on the least popular day of the week.  So Carpe Diem the *&%$ out of this week and watch God work.
Today's look is sorta plain.  That's the beauty in wearing a white T and denim, you don't have to be runway ready.  It allows you to be casually cute and comfortable at once.  This style combo is perfect for those days when you just don't care (like what my shirt says.)  It's a running late type of look and all you have to do is add a statement necklace or a funky shoe and maybe a little lip color and you're good to go.  Short, sweet and to the point - like today's post.

As always, email me (thestyleklazit@gmail.com) for style services or a free consultation.

OMG! Finally able to chit chat with you guys for a bit.  I have been really busy.  You know you have to be real careful about what you say because you can change your world just by speaking into it.  Months ago I said that some great things were about to happen and sure enough awesomely great things are happening.  I can't wait to spill the beans when the time is right.  For now, let's talk about
today's #ootd.  The denim top, the crop top and the distressed jeans were all thrifted.  I actually got the top from the men's section.  And tell me why does my clutch cost more than my outfit, crazy right.  Even more crazy is that I was tripping out during the photo shoot because I felt like to much of my mini muffin top was showing.  Despite being petite I still have body insecurities; Yet I'm learning daily to adore my body and love all of it's "flaws."  Take-aways from today's post is to throw caution to the wind and be like Nike - Just Do It!

How to Wear Monochrome No Matter Your Size Or Shape

Atlanta stylist, atlanta blogger, black blogger, black girls rock, monochrome, fashion, black and white polka dots, black and white fashion, atlanta street style, mirrored glasses, shoedazzle handbag, natural hair fashion, atlanta fashion, atlanta style influencer, style blogger, black girl killing it, thrifted fashion, thrifting atlanta, thrift style, diva diva boutique, polka dots, mixed prints, atlanta style, neoprene skirt street style, neoprene street style, prints street style, Phat Girl Fresh, Tall Tales by Ramona O, 3xDOPE, plus size fashion, curvy girl fashion, plus size blogger

If the shoe fits, buy it!  This wise old saying has brought much joy and happiness to my life.  And that's why I cherish and follow its directions almost to the T.  Ha! Ha! Ha!  No but for-real, when I saw Deon on ShoeDazzle.com I had to have them.  Ain't they bang'n?! Speaking of old sayings, remember a few posts back I mentioned that some good things were about to happen?  Guess what!
It's starting...  So I've teamed up with two other awesomely dope style bloggers whom you may or may not know.  Let me introduce you to Ramona of Tall Tales by Ramona O and Maui of Phat Girl Fresh.  We represent the everyday woman in all her #dopeness.  Together we are 3xDOPE (follow us).

'Real Style Is Never Right Or Wrong, It's A Matter Of Being Yourself On Purpose.' (tweet this)

Why do we allow society's standards of what looks good to determine how we express ourselves through style?  Just because I'm petite (okay small) doesn't mean that all my clothes have to be tight and/or short.  And just because you may be pleasantly plump doesn't mean you have to dress like Mother Teresa either.  One thing to keep in mind, you should dress for your shape instead of your size.

Ergo the days where we actually follow "style rules".  Take the style trend monochrome, this trend can be styled by anybody in any number of ways.  Black and white is my all time favorite color combo.  And when mixed together your look can be simple and chic or elaborate and bold.  Today we're bring 3 different variations of this fun trend.

Check us out! Then drop a line in the comments or email me (thestyleklazit@gmail.com) to let me know what you think about our looks or what you'd like to see more of from 3xDOPE.

Would you believe me if I told you I really don't like pink.  I think I've mentioned this before.  So why did I buy this skirt?  Be-cause it was long and tulle.  I kid, the real reason I bought this skirt
was because it was pink.  Huh?  Crazy right!  So I wanted to start incorporating colors and pieces into my wardrobe that I normally wouldn't wear.  And pink just happens to be a color that I typically overlook.  But lately I've been adding various shades of pink into my wardrobe (here and here.)  I was a little apprehensive about this skirt because it was long. pink and tulle.  My point here is that when you're looking to expand your wardrobe, look at adding colors and pieces you wouldn't ordinary wear.  Now I'm challenging myself to see how many other ways I can style this skirt.

*Because I'm already brown; brown is a color I will never wear.  Don't want to walk around looking naked, lol!

Black Vest + Mustard Trousers

OMG!!!! Capital America was the everything I knew it would be.  I watched it in 3D, but I'm sure I could have saved some coins watching it the old fashion way.  If you haven't see it, Go see it.  I really enjoyed my time off, celebrating my birthday and Mother's day.  So you can imagine coming back today is real hard.  I'm just counting down the days until I no longer have to clock in and out of "the mans" time clock.  What I took pleasure in the most about my time off was
Staying up as late as possible doing random randomness.  Such as aimlessly surfing the web, watching t.v, and catching up on old emails.  But for the most part, I didn't do much of anything.  Oh! before I forget, Happy (belated) Mother's Day to all you wonderful super shero mothers out there.  I hope you really enjoyed your day.

So today's look is really simple.  This look was inspired by my shoes.  I was looking for another pair of shoes when I came up on these and I was like, heyy I forgot about these.  Have you ever based your look on what shoes?  I do it all the time.  My shoes sometimes determine what I'll wear.  Often times you can take the colors in your shoes to help you pull a look together.  What's your inspiration when putting together a look?  Drop a line below and let me know, I might try your way.

White T + Faux Leather Oxfords

*Smiling hard* Right now I feel like a kid at a candy shop.  I tell you the truth, I'm super excited!  So much is coming down the pipe for me and I am bubbling over with anticipation and expectancy.  Here's the kicker...

I don't even have a clue as to what it is;  I just have this feeling.  You know the one, where you have butterflies in your stomach and you can't sleep or eat (but not me, I'm still eating).  All you know is that something BIG is coming.  My goal is to be ready when it gets here.

Have you ever considered diy'ing garments in your closet that no longer service it's original purpose?  Take this skirt for instance, it was given to me for the purposes of destroying it.  The style of the skirt pre-diy wasn't flattering at all.  Sooo I grabbed a pair scissors and a spray bottle of bleach and got to work.  Once I got done Edward Scissorhanding this skirt, I washed it (by itself because of the bleach) and dried it to give it the fray and distressed look.  But there's really no right or wrong way to distress denim.  Just be creative.

Got a style question or need a little help getting dressed?  Email me, thestyleklazit@gmail.com or drop a line below.

What up y'all!  Happy Monday!  Whewww, what a week and weekend I've had.  Last week was my son's spring break and he spent it with his godparents.  I thought that this would be a week of relaxation but NOT SO
Dropped him off last Sunday and the rest of the week was a blur.  My plan was to come home and chill with hubs. Instead every evening I was in the streets.  From my bi-weekly chiropractor visits, a JustFab Diamond Elite Mixer, the debut of an old friends SS16 collection and a styling gig for the Spring 16 Urban Prep collection of Lavendar's Jungle.  A sista is Done!

Do these fatigues look familiar?  We'll they should I've worn them before - here, here and here.  Which look is your fave?

Checkered Sweater + Windowpane Print

Atlanta style blogger, style blogger, Atlanta blogger, street style, black blogger, black and white, windowpane print, checkered print, mixed prints, pink shoes, ShoeDazzle,, Target Style, Old Navy, Naturals Rock, Work wear, Stylist

Welp, it's the second day of the week of the second month of the year.  I must say things are looking up!  Why you may ask? Weellll, when I looked back over my life these last few years I noticed one thing
Growth!!!!!!  My hair for sure has grown.  Btw, I LOVE my natural hair.  I very excited to see it at its full potential.  Secondly, my blog.  When I first started out blogging, I had no idea what so ever what I was doing, but to look at where I started until now....  I'm very proud of myself.  I can't wait to see what the rest of this year holds for The Style Kläzit.

Now just because you still work a 9-5 or similar doesn't mean you can't be stylish or "trendy".  Maybe I'm fortunate that my job allows me a little wiggle room to #createmyownlook (wink).  Look at how I took a sweater and pair of slacks, which both are appropriate for work and executed a trendy mixed print look.  And just for the heck of it, I added a splash of color.  Now you try it and tag me either on Facebook or Instagram with your new found workwear look.  Good Luck!!

Atlanta style blogger, Street Style, Atlanta blogger, style blogger, blogger, tartan print skirt, mixed prints, black and white top, striped shoes
When I first saw this skirt...

It was love at first sight and then I hoped that I could wear it.  Being short, I usually stay away from long skirts, unless they are really cute and then I make them work for my height.  I think I did well for myself.

Purple Mixed Prints

A few weeks ago I did a periscope on how to successfully mix prints.
This look was one of the looks that I used in my demonstration.  I was able to pull this look off by matching the purple in the skirt with the purple print in the top.  Both pieces have the same colors just different prints.  I added the gold belt to cinch my waist (the skirt was a tad bit to big) and to bring out the gold in my top and shoes.

A Pop Of Color

For the last few weeks I've been all mixed up.  Mainly because I'm super excited about my ShoeDazzle New York Meet Up in just a few days.  Now that the weather has gotten cooler, I'm not sure what I'm going to wear.  I've heard that the temp's are already in the 40's.  Instead of the cute sandals I was hoping for, I now have to pull out my boots, sweaters, scarfs and maybe a coat... Either way I've already planed to do some Major shopping.  Can't wait to give you guys a recap.

Weekend of Fashion & Fun - Mixologist / pt. 2

Welcome back Stylenista's...

If you haven't read part 1 of my fashion fun filled weekend, check it out here.
Atlanta style blogger, style blogger, Atlanta blogger, Mixed prints, thrifted fashion, street style, black and white, fatigue pants

I love fashion shows.  I've organized, directed, hosted and even styled for several shows.  So when my thrift sisters Wendy of (justjewels4u) and Cindy of (iampriiincesss) posted that they were putting on a fashion show, no doubt I was there.  The show was great.  I would have rocked just about each looked that graced the runway.  Click here for a few pics from the show.

Now about my look.  To some it may be a lot going own, but for me it was très chic.  I planned this look about a week before the fashion show in my head.  I was hoping to try it own just to make sure it would look okay, but never got around to it.  So, it was going to have to work - no matter what.

All Mixed UP!

Hi Stylenista's,

There's a certain classicness (is that a word?) to black and white.  Subconsciously, I tend to lean more towards the black/white combo.  I like the versatility that this color combo has.  One of my favorite style enthusiast's, who I deem the queen of black and white, is Janelle Monae.  She can wear the heck out of an black and white outfit.

Following me you see I'm a huge fan of prints.  Outside of polka dot's, window pane print has become my fave.  As an avid thrifter, my primary goal was to find them for less than $5.00.  Well, that didn't happen.  While out and about with my boo, I walked into the store and there they were; front and center.  I felt like a kid on Christmas.  They were not the $5 that I was hoping for, BUT I got want I wanted.

Express Yourself!

Hello Stylenista's,

It's still winter, ughh!  There has to be a reason for cold weather, although I have yet to find out why.  You know, when you're different, sometimes you don't see the millions of people who accept you for who you are.  All you notice is the person who doesn't - Jodi Picoult

Growing up I always felt like the oddball, the weird one or as my father so affectionately calls me the "X" factor.  I never really "fit" in.  It's amazing how long a person can go in life without really knowing who they are or really being free to be who they are.  Though I might not be all I'm suppose to be or where I'm suppose to be; I'm on my way!

Sometimes, I like playing in my closet just to see what I can come up with.  Sometimes I get and sometimes I don't.  Either way it's fun.

Just A Little Plaid

Hi Stylenista's

As you can probably tell, I have no problem mixing prints and flaunting colors.  I love expressing myself through my wardrobe.  Sometimes I amaze myself at some of the styles I come up with.

When I saw these shoes, they were a must have.  The style options that went through my head was almost an overload.  Plus they were flats.  I have some many heels, my goal for this fall/winter season was to add more flats to my shoe collection. Even before they arrived, I had already planned the first look.  I will admit that although they're flats, one of the shoes isn't that comfortable.  So I'm not sure how many times I'll wear these this season.  But they are still cute...

All Mixed Up

Hi there Stylenista's

Although I'm a sucker for vintage; I love mixing prints and patterns.  In my humble opinion mixing prints is an art.  You have to be able to mix the right prints to create the ultimate look that would guarantee all types of looks and stares.

I've added pics of a few of my #thriftsisters who nailed, killed, murdered, slayed and gave life to the printmix trend.

Bright Colors In Fall

Hi Stylenista's

My weekend was full of fun and fashion.  Saturday I volunteered at the Thrifting Atlanta Fashion Swap.  I enjoyed working behind the scenes with a few of my thriftsisters.

My look for this event was inspired by a pair of oh so fab color block/mixed print shoes.  When I saw these shoes I wasted no time placing my order.  When they came, I knew that I needed to wear them before the weather cooled down.  My headwrap was a result of me running behind and not having enough time to wrap it the way I meant to.  This wrap style was completely unintentional, but oh I killed it (in my Lil Terio voice).

DIY Jeans - St. Vincent de Paul - $5.00

Dots & Prints

Hey there Stylenista's

Happy Wednesday!  One more day and then it's Friday.

I'm not sure why, but I'm sooo looking forward to this fall season.  Maybe it's because I have a few pieces that I've been really anxious to wear (shrugs shoulders).  Anywho...

From all of my previous post, you should know that I really love mixing prints.  Today is no different.  What prints have you mixed together?

Natural Chic

Hey there Stylenista's!

I call this look natural chic.... I have been natural for over 2 years and I LOVE it.  I wish I would have done it earlier.  I didn't grow up wearing makeup and I never learned how to apply it so I don't wear.  I'm okay with my natural beauty.
